Dear Parents and Families,
As we enter the final year of your scholar’s middle school journey, we are excited to inform you about the upcoming 8th grade events that will celebrate the accomplishments of our scholars. These events include the 8th Grade Recognition Ceremony, the End-of-Year Cookout, and several other memorable activities designed to mark this important milestone.
In order for scholars to participate in these events, they must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Eligibility Requirements:
Academic Standing:
Scholars must maintain passing grades in all of their courses. Final grades will be reviewed as part of the eligibility criteria.
Scholars cannot fail more than 1 subject overall.
Attendance:
Students are required to attend school regularly. A pattern of unexcused absences or tardies may affect eligibility. We encourage all students to arrive on time and attend all classes.
Scholars cannot have more than 20 unexcused absences for the school year.
Behavior and Conduct:
We expect students to uphold our school's behavior standards. Any major disciplinary actions (such as out of school suspensions or multiple days in ALTOSS) may result in the scholar being excluded from these events. Respectful and responsible behavior, both in and out of class, is essential.
OSS: No more than 3 DRF’s that result in OSS for more than 1 day.
ALTOSS: No more than 20 days assigned for the school year.
Completion of Assignments and Projects:
All major assignments and required projects must be completed by the deadlines set by teachers. Incomplete or missing work could result in a student being ineligible.
Parent/Family Communication:
Parents/ guardians and families are encouraged to stay informed about their Scholars' academic progress. We will send notifications if a scholar is at risk of not meeting any of the eligibility requirements.
We want all of our scholars to enjoy these special 8th-grade events, and we believe these guidelines will help ensure that every scholar is well-prepared and deserving of recognition.
If you have any questions regarding your Scholar's eligibility or would like to discuss any concerns, please feel free to contact the school.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Michael Sauner
